Hamilton fastest in final free practice

Lewis Hamilton completed the fastest lap in Saturday morning’s free practice session. The Briton completed his best lap in 1.16.058 and finished ahead of Webber, Alonso and Schumacher. Karun Chandhok missed the entire session due to hydraulic problems.

Ferrari have said there is no connection between Fernando Alonso’s Malaysian Grand Prix engine blow-out and the Sauber team’s engine-related difficulties.

Webber fastest in front of home crowd

Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber topped the time sheets on Saturday morning in Melbourne as the Australian completed his fastest lap in 1.24.719. Webber ended ahead of Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Mercedes driver Michael Schumacher. Both HRT drivers stranded their cars on track with hydraulic problems.
