Heikki Kovalainen interview: Lotus better than expected

Heikki Kovalainen admits that the new Lotus team is exceeding all expectations following its first winter testing. Now the only Finn in the field, the 28-year-old hopes to iron out niggling hydraulics-related issues before the start of the season in two weeks’ time, as he explained to GPUpdate.net’s Gregory Haines in Spain on Sunday.

Virgin Racing faces hydraulic problems

On Wednesday the Virgin Racing team started it’s second full test with the VR-01 at Jerez. After a successful conclusion to its testing debut here last week, the team experienced more of the rough than the smooth today when an elusive hydraulics problem proved hard to pin down.

Hydraulic problem ends Schumacher’s day

Michael Schumacher’s running was cut short in Valencia on Wednesday when a hydraulics problem turned out to be Mercedes’ first mechanical issue of the year. Nevertheless, the 7-time World Champion still managed the third quickest time of the day and notched up another 82 laps.
